Why I started mimicking Davido, popular Skitmaker Nasboi finally reveals after becoming one of the top Skitmaker in Nigeria
Popular skit maker and now singer, Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, popular known as Nasboi, has revealed why he started his career mimicking Davido.
However Nasboi came into the Nigerian entertainment scene as the “Low Budget OBO”. According to him, he was mimicking the DMW boss/CEO to get his attention and gradually people started noticing him.
The talented comedian revealed this during a recent interview segment with MTV Base Naija Top 10. He disclosed his intention was to get Davido’s attention and eventually showcase his musical talent to him.
In his words, “I started off mimicking Davido. So, the plan was to get David’s attention for my music. I disturbed this guy till he invited me one day and I started playing my music.”
Meanwhile, on why he became a skit maker, Nasboi stated, “It [my mimics of Davido] started looking like cruise to everybody. So, I said, okay, let’s jump on it. That’s how I jumped on it and it started looking like it demanded for me to start making skits. So, I had no option than to make skits.”
Although before now Nasboi revealed he started off as a musician and has written multiple unreleased songs. Because he discovered the music industry isn’t a place you delve into unprepared. So skit making was a way out to build an audience which has eventually paid off.
The singer/Skitmaker recently dropped a single titled “Lover Boy” and indeed Nasboi’s musical talent is undeniable.
