The only artist that showed Afrobeat love before anyone is Chris Brown. The Nigerian superstar singer and top charting record producer Davido has revealed in a recent interview making rounds. Which American artist showed support first before everyone else started hopping on Afrobeat now.
According to OBO he would give it to Chris Brown because his love for the art is genuine. Adding that Chris would come around for hours recording and it came from a genuine place of love. While buttressing that this is his opinion and he doesn’t know for other artist but he would say it’s Chris Brown for him.
In his words, “The only artist in this American, that I will tell you facts is Chris Brown. He the one that does it because he loves the art, that’s for me I don’t know about anybody else. And when I’m talking about k1lling the record, video shoots and staying there for 5 hours loving Afrobeats. Not only doing my records even other Afrobeat artist. Like now the genre is big, everybody is trying to hop on it but I’m saying we have to acknowledge the people that showed love first”.
Davido also added that he told Chris that when he’s going to this interview, he was going to him a shout out. Not only because they’re friends but because he deserves it for showing Afrobeat love when others weren’t forthcoming. Do you agree with Davido?
