Sean Dampte contemplates presidency. Talented artist Oluwaseun Oluyole, popularly known by his stage name Sean Dampte. Is an Afro-fusion singer who has declared his intention for the presidential seat in the 2027 general election.
His quest to run for office stems from a place to provide good governance and leadership for Nigerian citizens. Considering the current state of the country, his desire comes from a place of service and goodwill.
Speaking on the abrupt change in the country’s legal tender (currency), he described it as appalling and disheartening. Adding that a nation has to endure such hardship and undue challenges amongst the many other challenges people are already facing.
In his words,
“Many countries across the world are daily thinking of developments – technology, human capital, among other resources but we are struggling to develop our democracy. It’s absurd that Nigerians are buying their own currency even at a higher rate than foreign currencies.”
“We are an oil-producing country but we are importing our petroleum needs. We pride ourselves as the African giant but we can’t boast of a steady power supply, good governance, and leadership. All of these are prompting my desire to come into the political space to salvage the country,” the future presidential candidate, Sean Dampte added.
Despite his presidential ambitions, the talented artist also owns The Savage Music and released a new song this year titled #ideyconsider which highlights his future plans.
Many other talented artists such as Kanye West have ventured into politics, Dampte won’t be the first artist to nurse such an idea to run for the office of the presidency. Sean treated his fans with good music last December in Lagos. He dubbed the show Sean Dampte Live (SDLIC) where he had an electrifying live performance for his supporters.
With his varied knowledge in music as well as his contributions to music ingenuity with hit records like Jejely, Flex an’ Chill, Tender Body, Hide your Girls, Gyals, Agbada, Baba Won, Pepe, Lagos Friday London Monday, 2nite among others, Sean Dampte is equipped to turn his dreams into reality.
