Olamide believes he is where he is by the grace of God and vows to never pay for any foreign collaboration
Olamide on international collaboration. The YBNL record owner and Nigerian Rapper popularly known as Olamide has vowed to never pay for foreign collaboration. Speaking on the matter, the rapper disclosed that he’s never planning to pay any international artists for collaboration. Because the king of Afrobeat Fela Kuti didn’t do any international collaborations before he was recognized in the international market.
Olamide on internal collaboration, “I will never pay money for international collaboration. Ogun k*ll international. Fela didn’t do any international collaboration before he was recognized in the international market. Where I am now is by the Grace of God. My work will take me to where I’m supposed to be. But know this, I would never pay any international Artist for collaboration.
Olamide has already gained the international recognition, he deserves by being presented with the Certificate of Recognition. By the California Legislature, he was in the company of Fireboy and Asake. Olamide has seen the rise of many young talents by either collaborating with them or signing them.
Olamide’s take on international collaboration is one not many producers share. Due to their belief collaboration is a good way to push music beyond Africa. Both ideologies seem to be working for each individual holder. Despite not having collaborated internationally, Olamide has gained international recognition. While those that collaborated, also have been able to push African sound beyond Nigeria to other parts of the world.
