The Ghanian media personality has a lot to say about how Nigerian music tops the chart in Ghana
Nigerian music tops the chart in Ghana. A critic who goes by the name Kwadwo Sheldon laments that Nigerian songs keep topping the music charts in Ghana. The concerned Ghanian host and media personality described the situation as not funny. Stating that not a single Ghanaian song made it to the top 10 or top 15.
He further stated that he can understand the top 10 situations, but for the fact that not even a single song made the list. It’s very disheartening, he revealed he further widened his search to the top 20 no Ghanian song was found. As well as the top 50 none, stating that all top 60 songs on the music charts have no single Ghana music on the list. In the top 10 list were;
1. Omah Lay– SoSo
2. Rema- Holiday
3. Spyro- Who’s your guy
4. Arya Starr- Stability
5. Ruger- Asiwaju
6. Adekunle Gold- Party No Dey Stop.
7. YoungJonn- Xtracool
8. Arya Starr- Rush
9. Kizz X BNXN- Gwagwalada
10. Tiwa Savage- Stamina.
His statement was met with a lot of reactions and below are a few of them. Although it looked more like a compliment some Nigerians felt the statement in the video was mostly from a place of envy and jealousy. Because other countries don’t mind, unlike Ghana which couldn’t contend.
@_deagram: “No African country comes close to Nigeria when it comes to music. I mean entertainment altogether.
@benyjomusic: “we have music; while you people have light to charge phone and play our sound”
@mediamenik: “Nigeria is the America of all other African countries no lies”
@Stanleynanka: “what the heck is wrong with him, is it jealousy or something? American music has been topping worldwide. I’ve never heard of Japanese complaining of American songs topping charts, what’s the beef”
