Davido’s project makes an international pick. As reported by @Hot97, Davido’s new album TIMELESS was among the projects that made the week’s international picks. Since November last year, Davido took a much-needed break from appearing in public and being active on social media.
To deal with the sudden passing of his only son, Ifeanyi Adeleke. After a long period of six months, the singer made a grand return bearing a gift of a new album. During his break, he made some on-and-off appearances first was during his uncle’s inauguration as the Governor. And the second time was during the closing ceremony of the FIFA world cup. Where he showed up to give a thrilling live performance.
It was after the live performance that he gave an official month he would fully be back in public and on social media. Davido returned with his highly anticipated fourth studio album TIMELESS. The 17-track album featured artists like The cavemen, Angélique Kidjo, Asake, Skepta, Fave, Musa Keys, Morravey, Focalistic etc.
TIMELESS debuted at number 2 on the U.S. Apple Music Top Albums, making it the highest charting Album by a Nigerian artist in history. It also peaked at No. 1 spot on Nigeria’s Apple Music Top Album Chart, and U.K Apple Music Top Album Chart, same with 17 other countries. The album has an infusion of Afrobeat, Amapiano and dancehall.
