Davido becomes the first Nigerian artist to perform at the world cup, while making his first official
appearance after the death of his son
Davido World cup performance; Nigerian artist songwriter, music producer and performer David Adeleke popularly known
as Davido performed at the closing ceremony of the FIFA world cup in Qatar on Sunday, 18th of December.
The talented singer, Davido became the first Nigerian artist to attain such height. It was his first official public
appearance after the demise of his son Ifeanyi who died on the 31st of October as a result of drowning.
The star singer was scheduled to perform at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the world cup, but
Davido couldn’t honour the invitation due to death of his son.
In an iconic moment at the closing ceremony, Davido in company of Aisha and Trinidad Cardona performed
‘Better Together’ (Hayya Hayya), which is the first track off the 2022 World Cup official soundtrack.
They gave a beautiful performance before the final match between Argentina and France kicked-off, which saw
the Argentina clinch the victory and emerge the world cup champion. Davido World cup performance, was electrifying.
A happy Davido who seem back and ready to take on the world, after taking time off to mourn the tragic incident was
seen in a trending video saying he is back to business so people should look out to see more of him. He was also
accompanied by his beautiful wife Chioma(chefchi) who is the mother of his deceased son Ifeanyi.
