Job Overview:

Cortland is looking for a highly skilled Lead Developer to lead their Web and Process Automation team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing onshore and offshore resources and working in an agile delivery model to develop web and process automation solutions. Your role will involve leadership, technical guidance, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Roles You Will Play:

The Leader:

  • Lead a team of developers and programmer analysts in designing, developing, and implementing web and process automation solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of agile delivery practices within the team.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize application performance.
  • Plan and conduct Proof of Concept (POC) and prototypes.
  • Break down tasks, identify dependencies, and distribute work among team members.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and specifications.
  • Apply software development security best practices.

The Collaborator:

  • Collaborate with the IT infrastructure team for application deployment and integration with existing systems.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including product managers, QA testers, and UI/UX designers.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Owners to translate business requirements into technical approaches and architecture.

The Developer:

  • Develop user interfaces for web and intranet applications.
  • Review code, guide the team in troubleshooting, and ensure the development of performant software.
  • Design architecture and solutions for enterprise applications on cloud platforms.
  • Develop and operate web services, integrating data using APIs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with agile delivery methodologies.
  • Proficiency in modern .NET technologies and frameworks, including .NET Core, MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, and Azure.
  • Proven experience in leading developer teams and managing projects.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks like Angular or React (a plus).
  • Familiarity with DevOps processes and tools (Jira, Git, Azure DevOps, Confluence, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
