Job Responsibilities:

As a Software Development Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering online and in-person instruction to students for a duration of six months. Your role includes:

  • Supporting and guiding students to achieve course objectives.
  • Conducting office hours, one-on-one meetings, and group sessions to assist students in mastering technical concepts.
  • Collecting and analyzing student data to enhance instruction and curriculum.
  • Participating in faculty learning communities to improve the curriculum, enhance the program, and evaluate student learning outcomes.
  • Developing and teaching courses in software development, covering topics such as Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, React, SCRUM/Agile, web servers, and development.
  • Maintaining an organized classroom structure.
  • Overseeing and collaborating with adjunct instructors, staff, and college partners.
  • Providing feedback for student placement in software development employment positions.
  • Coordinating with business and industry partners.
  • Participating in scheduling training offerings for the program.
  • Developing and working with advisory members, holding regular meetings.

This position is located at the Northeast Campus in the Corporate and Continuing Education department.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:

  • Experience as a Web/Software Engineer with proficiency in HTML, CSS, Java, PHP, SQL, and JavaScript.
  • Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Desire to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in online technologies and virtual communication.
  • At least three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer with expertise in HTML, CSS, React, Java, SCRUM/Agile, PHP, SQL, NPM, Linting, Spring Boot, Swagger, Layered Architecture, PostgreSQL, Source Control with Git, and JavaScript (proficiency in Ruby, Rails, and Python is a plus).
  • Experience in teaching technology bootcamps, high school, or college courses (in-person/online).
  • Expertise in making content accessible, relevant, and actionable.
